Yes, before receiving a license, applicants need to comply with their local jurisdiction's ordinances and regulations.

Does local authorization have to specify that the applicant is approved for commercial cannabis activity?

Yes, although local authorization may vary by local jurisdiction, each application for commercial cannabis activity must specify that the applicant is approved.

If the Local Jurisdiction's authorization or license is submitted with application to show compliance, what happens?

The Bureau of Cannabis Control shall contact the Local Jurisdiction for confirmation. If there is no response within 10 calendar days, the Bureau shall consider the authorization as valid.

If the Local Jurisdiction's authorization or license is not submitted with application to show compliance, what happens?

The Bureau of Cannabis Control shall notify the Local Jurisdiction. If there is no response within 60 business days, the Bureau shall presume compliance with local ordinances and regulations. However, if the Local Jurisdiction responds after 60 business days that the applicant is not compliant, than disciplinary action may result and the Bureau will no longer presume compliance with local ordinances and regulations.

Yes, Local Jurisdictions can ban medicinal or adult-use commercial cannabis activity in whole or in part.
